BoneProtect provides 1200 mg of highly concentrated and absorbable sources of elemental calcium in four easy-to-swallow capsules daily. It also provides vitamin D to stimulate calcium absorption, vitamin K to help bind minerals to bone matrix, magnesium to help form bone and cartilage, and boron which may help retain bone building minerals. The formula also contributes isoflavones – the bone-healthy components of soybeans. Calcium needs vary throughout life. The 1994 NIH expert panel recommends that women aged 25-50 consume 1,000 mg daily, and for women 50-65 years of age the recommendation is 1,500 mg daily. For men, 1,000 mg daily is recommended between the ages of 25-65. For both men and women over 65, the recommended daily intake is 1,500 mg.
