Scientific Overview

Research continues to validate the importance of nutrition in overall health and well-being. Science has shown that certain nutrients, in particular antioxidants and lutein, play a significant role in eye health. Recently, findings of the Age Related Eye Disease Study (AREDS), supported by the National Eye Institute/NIH, were published in the Archives of Ophthalmology. The Study found a decreased progression of vision loss in patients with macular degeneration taking antioxidants and zinc. Other research has found that lutein helps to reduce the risk of cataracts and retinal problems. The Company has designed and will soon launch two double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical studies on its dry eye formulation, HydroEye. ScienceBased Health's research & development team continually evaluates the latest scientific findings and updates its products as science advances.
